Notes:	This course will require students to be outdoors and exposed to the elements of nature. Students should and are encouraged to prepare themselves by wearing appropriate, professional outdoor clothing that protects them from excessive ultraviolet light, heat, cold, and insects, such as athletic wear, including tactical-style boots, fully laced sneakers, BDU pants, T-shirts with no obscene and/or inappropriate graphics and text, and polo shirts. Students should also properly hydrate the day before training and bring plenty of water with them throughout the course to stay hydrated. **COURSE IS LIMITED TO HARRIS COUNTY CONSTABLE PCT 4 PERSONNEL ONLY**

 Patrol Shotgun prepares deputies to deploy the use of a shotgun safely and effectively as circumstances dictate. Deputies will be instructed on and will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the fundamentals needed to operate their model of pump action or semi-automatic shotgun safely and effectively. SHOTGUN REQUIREMENT: Department policy compliant 12ga. pump action or semi-automatic shotgun (Policy 15.09.01). AMMUNITIION REQUIREMENTS:100 rounds of 12ga. "birdshot" (12ga. 2 3/4" typically labeled "dove and quail" or "field load", #7, #7.5, or #8 shot), 25 rounds of 12ga. "00" buckshot, and 25 rounds of 12ga. slugs (typically labeled "rifled slug" or "foster slug"). This course is approved for 8 TCOLE hours.
