Classroom Attire: Dress for a professional training environment. Appropriate classroom dress includes: Departmental uniforms, business casual attire, i.e.; collared shirts and pressed pants, jeans, or BDU style pants. No shorts, tee shirts, flip-flop style shoes, yoga style pants, or tank tops will be permitted unless otherwise instructed by Training Division personnel. Wearing of hats or caps in the classroom will not be allowed. Jeans with holes or tattered material will not be allowed. Classroom Rules: Those attending class are restricted to the Classroom, Break Room, Restroom and outside Smoking area while attending class. The Training Division shares its location with several other Divisions and other Harris County Agencies, please be respectful when walking from the Classroom to unrestricted areas of the building. Please restrict personal phone calls to the breakroom or the smoking area. Cell phones must be placed on silent while attending class.
Attendance: Class attendance is an essential part of the education process, and participants in Precinct 4 courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. The courses requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirement, for example, a field exercise that cannot be missed. Participants in a TCOLE credit course must complete the class in its entirety to receive TCOLE credit. All Training Division personnel have the authority to enforce Training Division rules and dress code, regardless of rank, up to and including the removal from a course.

**COURSE IS LIMITED TO HARRIS COUNTY CONSTABLE PCT 4 PERSONNEL ONLY**
Officers always have a firearm and these weapons play a large role in police work. Firearms by their very nature are destructive devices. Officers need to know safe, proper handling procedures for firearms to prevent unwanted catastrophes. This course introduces the basic principles of firearms handling and firearms safety. Participants will be introduced to basic marksmanship principles and firearms functions to include, loading/unloading, stoppage clearance, and the fundamental techniques for proper grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control. Students are required to bring their duty gear which includes but is not limited to their handgun, magazines, firearms holster properly paired with the firearm brought to class, magazine holders properly paired with the magazines brought to class, duty belt, inner belt, keepers, tool kits and cleaning kits appropriate for the weapon system brought to class, PPE (hearing protection, and eye protection). Students will be required to bring 250 rounds of ammunition. Course is approved for 8 TCOLE hours. COURSE IS LIMITED TO HARRIS COUNTY CONSTABLE PCT 4 PERSONNEL ONLY.
